You've got questions.
We've got Answers.
From what to expect during your first visit to common insurance questions, we’ve gathered up the most frequently asked patient questions and then some to help guide your journey.
If you’re like most of our patients, you’re probably sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Most of all, you’re sick of seeing expert after expert and making appointments at the best hospitals only to feel like they’re not listening, brushing you off, or simply not willing to do additional research and think beyond the chart to help you heal.
a board-certified internist, microbiologist, diagnostician, and medical director at Motivated Medicine. As an auto immune thyroid patient myself, living with chronic illness, I’ve been where you are. I started this private practice because I know patients like you and I need a true partner on our path to healing. Believe me, I understand the intensity with which you want to feel better — and I’m intensely passionate about doing everything I can to help you uncover what’s standing in your way.
We are a small, but mighty team of medical professionals who are relentless when it comes to researching and finding the missing pieces of the 5,497-piece puzzle. If you’re as motivated and determined to change your life as we are, we believe we can help you uncover the root causes of your health conditions.
There are a lot of “labels” out there when it comes to the many different ways doctors treat patients. We wish we could say we fit into one box, but we don’t. And that’s exactly what makes our approach so successful — and why 90% of our patients report improvement or a resolution of symptoms.
The Motivated Medicine ™ approach that Dr. Z has developed (and continues to evolve on a daily basis) is rooted in Translational Medicine. If you’re wondering, “What the heck is translational medicine?” Here’s how we explain it:
Translational Medicine bridges the gap between all the behind-the-scenes research going on in laboratories and hospitals across the world and the direct care YOU are getting from your doctor.
It’s a style of practice that’s dedicated to ensuring that the newest research scientists are finding — we’re talking things the scientific and medical community discovered last week — is making its way to your bedside and into your treatment plan.
Our open-minded approach to treating patients is informed by data, the latest research in microbiology, whole-body wellness, tried-and-true “conventional” medicine and so much more.
We see you. We hear you. We believe you. During your initial 60 to 90-minute consultation, we’ll take the time to hear your story, ask questions, and get the complete picture of your medical history, genetics, lifestyle, and symptoms.
Together with your medical history and daily struggles, comprehensive labs and specialty testing help tell the full story when it comes to pinpointing the root causes of your health issue or specific symptoms. These test results help guide your personalized health plan, from nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, to potential prescription medications and referrals.
We don’t believe conventional medicine is the only way. In fact, we know it’s not. We’ve referred our patients to everyone from cardiologists and rheumatologists, to acupuncturists, ayurvedic clinicians and beyond if the data suggests it can help. Your personalized plan takes into account your mind, nutrition, sleep, day-to-day habits and so much more.

While these are the most common conditions and symptoms we treat, this list is by no means exhaustive. Get in touch, share your story, and let’s see if we can help you.
At Motivated Medicine, we’re on a relentless mission to uncover the root causes of your health conditions. That means continuous training and learning, and working in collaboration when it’s called for. Our clinicians train closely under Dr. Z to learn her approach to analyzing testing, evaluating patients, and creating treatment plans that follow her unique methods. Each of our clinicians has their own unique focus and background in a variety of areas, including pediatrics, endocrinology, cardiology and gut health. During your initial patient inquiry call, you’ll be matched with the right clinician based on your condition and symptoms.
